Getting Started
Setting up EnvKey with a new or existing project doesn't take long.
1.) Download the EnvKey App.
If you haven't yet, you can download the latest version of the EnvKey App for your platform by going to EnvKey's homepage and clicking the big Download
button at the top of the page. Install it and open it once it's finished downloading.
2.) Create an organization or accept an invitation.
2a - Create an organization.
Click Sign In / Sign Up
on the home screen of the EnvKey App and enter your email. In a few seconds, you'll get an email token you can use to sign up. Next, fill in the Create Organization
form with the organization's name, your name, and a master encryption passphrase. From there, you'll be guided through creating or importing your first application, adding and editing config, generating development and server EnvKeys, and inviting collaborators.
2b - Accept an invitation.
If you need to get access to an existing EnvKey organization, ask an organization owner or admin to send you an invitation. You should receive an Invite Code
in an email from EnvKey and an Encryption Code
directly from the user who invited you.
Click the Accept Invite
button on the home screen of the EnvKey App and enter both codes to get access. You'll also be asked to set a master encryption passphrase. You should now have access to your new organization and at least one of its applications. From there, you'll be guided through adding and editing config, generating development EnvKeys, and if your access level is high enough, generating server EnvKeys and inviting additional collaborators.
